When students take the SAT with double time (+100% or more), the exam is administered over two days and in the student’s school instead of a designated test center.įor the SAT Suite of Assessments, students approved to test with extended time will also receive extra breaks. However, students approved for extended time in reading will be provided extended time for all test sections because all test sections require reading. For instance, a student with a disability impacting math calculations may not need extended time for writing sections. Students may request accommodations in one or more of the following sections:Įxtended time may not be needed for every section or every test. Break time does not count as testing time. Students with medical conditions, such as diabetes, may need breaks instead of extended time.Students with ADHD may find that the accommodation of a small group setting helps to reduce distractions.This answer sheet enables students to mark the response with an "X" instead of requiring them to fill in bubbles. Students with fine-motor impairments may need a large-print answer sheet rather than extended time.Access your SAT and AP scores, and send them to colleges. If a student is usually able to complete school tests in the allotted time, or if the student’s inability to complete tests is not related to a disability, then extended time should not be requested.
Students should request extended time only if their disability causes them to work more slowly than other students. This policy might be different from the way your school administers extended time. They cannot leave early or move onto the next test section until the allotted time has passed. In most cases, students testing with extended time must stay the entire amount of time for which they are approved.
